Click and Collect Service

We have recently introduced a Click and Collect Service at all of our nationwide depots. We feel it is an important factor to include when selling products online. A lot of places now have a Click and Collect Service whether it is in a supermarket or a clothing store so why should we be any different?

The Click and Collect Service gives our customers the chance to pick up their belongings in their own time without the need of waiting for a delivery driver. Collections are available at our Bristol, Dartford, Swadlincote and Tipton branches when arranged over the phone with a member of our Sales Team.

How does Click and Collect work?
So if items are ordered on our online store, there is an option to request ‘Collection’ with the branch you would like to collect from. However, if you are speaking to a member of the Sales Team, they can take payment over the phone and can organise a collection day and time for you – just let them know!

If you are collecting from our Swadlincote branch, we can take cash and card payments whereas our other depots require payment over the phone beforehand. Just be aware that we do not have payment facilities at our Bristol, Dartford and Tipton branches so it is important to make payment before collecting.

When you arrive at one of our depots, please provide the name the order was placed under and the order reference number. This will make the collection requests easier to manage and will allow us to load your vehicles quicker.

Our appearance on ITV's Lorraine

On Friday 12th August, a member of the First Fence Team was sat at home enjoying her day off with the television on, as you do. Whilst watching ITV’s Lorraine with Lisa Snowdon and Mark Heyes, little Suki the Fashion Pug came on set and accidentally escaped when the collar came loose. With the cameraman following Suki, something in the background was extremely familiar. What was it? It turns out the cameraman had captured some of our Temporary Fencing panels behind the set!

Not only have we been featured on Lorraine, we have also been spotted on Emmerdale, the X Factor and coverage of Silverstone’s Formula 1 Grand Prix.

We have included some of shots of our Temporary Fencing from the show below:

Temporary Fencing and what comes with it!

As summer is still here, we are seeing lots of different Temporary Fencing systems around the local area. The six weeks holidays are a great time to start a construction project whilst the children are off from school. Our Temporary Fencing is often used on building and construction sites as well as outdoor events like music festivals.

When visiting our website, you will have come across various offers for Temporary Fencing Package Deals. We try to accommodate for all order sizes, for both small and large projects across the UK. This is achievable due to our huge stock holding at our four depots located throughout England. By storing vast amounts of stock, it enables us to provide Same Day Delivery, Next Day Delivery and a Click and Collect service.

What Panels do we supply?
We have various Panel types available to suit all requirements and locations. Whether you are looking for brand new Temporary Fencing Panels or Ex-Hire Temporary Fencing Panels, we can cater for you.

We also have four Package Deals currently running which are:

To complete your system, we recommend assembling your Temporary Fencing structure with Couplers and Feet. This will give you a much higher level of stability and these products have been specifically designed for this type of fencing. To further enhance the stability of your Temporary Fencing system, we also offer accessories like Stabilising Bars and Anti-Lift Devices. These accessories are all available on our website and our Sales Team are more than happy to discuss any further information you may need.

Additional extras can also be added to a Temporary Fencing system such as, a Health and Safety Sign Pack, Gates or Slot Block Barriers.

Should I use Health and Safety Signs?
We would highly recommend using Health and Safety Signs when your Temporary Fencing system is built. This will highlight any potential hazards that may occur whilst on or off site. The signs themselves are made from a correx material and can be purchased as a pack of six for £40 ex VAT.

Are Gates important within my Temporary Fencing system?
Temporary Fencing Gates are ideal for systems which will require pedestrian and vehicle access. Either Temporary Fencing Pedestrian Gates or 4 Metre Vehicle Gates are suitable for Temporary Fencing systems. They are both extremely durable and are supplied with castor wheels and gate hinges for easier movement.

What are Slot Block Barriers?
Slot Block Barriers are manufactured from durable plastic and are a Water Filled Barrier. These Barriers are compatible with Temporary Fencing Panels as they just slot into the Barrier therefore providing the fencing system with more stability. The individual Slot Block Barriers are tested by MIRA testing and suitable for multiple use. We have four colour options which you can choose from - red, white, black and yellow.

Can we hire these products?
Of course, we have a fantastic Hire Service which is available through our Sales Team. We hire on a weekly basis and will offer competitive rates. Your items will be supplied brand new and can be delivered to your site or collected from one of our sites.

Do you want more information? Well, if you contact our Sales Team on 01283 512111 they will be able to tell you more about how Temporary Fencing is made (using Smartweld 100 technology) and how you can buy or hire it. We are currently introducing a Buy-Back Scheme which is also known as our 360 Plan, if you would like to see if you qualify, email sales@firstfence.co.uk and someone will be able to look into your products.

Crowd Control Barriers - The variations

We offer various Crowd Control Barriers which are all made from high quality galvanised steel. These Barriers are often used to provide a safe pedestrian traffic management system for busy and heavily crowded areas. Our Crowd Control Barriers are suitable for a range of different projects whether you’re holding a public protest or hosting a music festival.

You are able to customise Crowd Control Barriers in your company branding colours or if you just fancy a nice red, then go ahead as it will brighten up the area. We have a list of standard RAL colours that you can choose from and off the Barriers go to be powder coated. Another positive point to show is, our powder coating service gives the Barrier more protection against damage and weathering.

So what Crowd Control Barriers are available?
We currently have four different types of Barriers that we sell which are also available for hire. The Crowd Control Barriers listed below are extremely popular and are all stored at our nationwide depots.

Fixed Leg Crowd Control Barrier 2.3m and 2.5m
These particular types of Crowd Control Barriers are often used as a temporary short-term solution. Once these Barriers are constructed and form a strong shield, they are effectively preventing members of the public from gaining access to restricted and hazardous areas. Alternatively, you can use these Barriers as an entry point for a queuing system. With the Barriers basic design, they are easy to assemble and also store as they have a great stacking capability.

Loose Leg Galvanised Crowd Control Barrier 2.3m and 2.5m
Our Loose Leg Crowd Control Barriers allows you to detach the legs from the Barrier, making them easier to store and transport. Each Barrier has been galvanised to the BS EN 10244 – 2 standard and increases the overall strength of the system. Again, our Loose Leg Crowd Control Barriers are perfect for providing a pedestrian traffic management solution for all kinds of outdoor events or temporary facilities.

Police Crowd Control Barrier
Police Crowd Control Barriers are also known as Met Barriers and are a popular choice for large scale events taking place in public areas. However, these Barriers differ from our standard Crowd Control Barriers as they are a more heavy duty barricade. As it features a clever interlocking system, these Barriers are impossible to dismantle when coming into contact with the actual Barrier. This will prevent people from removing the Barriers from the middle sections.

Walk-Through Fixed Leg Crowd Control Barrier
Compatible with steel Crowd Control Barriers, this Walk-Through Fixed Leg Crowd Control Barrier has been designed to provide a temporary point of access for pedestrians. Whether you are looking for a standard galvanised Walk-Through Barrier or would like a vibrant blue one, we can do this for you! These are also a form of traffic management for outdoor events and football matches, as it provides a safe walk-through passage for pedestrians.

What are our options?
Well, as you can see from our range of Barriers that they all offer great temporary security. Whether you are looking to buy from us or hire them, we are happy to accommodate all of your needs. Our Hire Service is available at competitive prices and can be hired on a weekly basis. If you would like to speak to someone about our Crowd Control Barriers then please call the office on 01283 512111.
